With Hollywood's recent fascination with remakes of classic films and modern retellings of classic literature, I would like to offer the following scenario to an aspiring screen writer.
Tonight was the grand opening of the Pacific Northwest Ballet's 2011-2012 season. While the execs were running around trying to convert their business wear into formal wear before the 6pm cocktail hour, I sat in my cubicle busying myself with a spreadsheet forecasting quarterly fee revenue. Before I could leave for the weekend I also had to set up a few trades for Monday and finalize a pitch book for a prospect. By 6pm the office was empty and I shut down for the week. Unfortunately there weren't any cubicle fairies to get me ready for the gala so I retired to a usual bar for happy hour. And thus is the birth of my new moniker, Yuppie Cinderella.
